Modified vinyl acid etch anti-corrosive primer. Protective Etch Primer is a high performance one component primer. It contains rust inhibiting pigments and phosphoric acid for corrosion protection and etching of ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Suitable substrates for Protective Etch Primer include degreased iron, aluminium, bronze, copper, galvanised iron, steel and stainless steel. It is a fast air dry, anti-corrosive primer which exhibits, minimum “burn back” characteristics from welds, and is widely used as a holding primer for plates or structural steel. Protective Etch Primer is therefore ideal for preparation on trailers, boats, tractors, cars and metal construction components, etc.
Coverage approx. 11m²/L depending on surface texture, porosity and method of application.
Apply with brush, roller, conventional spray and airless spray or dipping.
Recoat in 20-60 minutes to obtain maximum results.
